The rock @ the bottom of the pic looks like a crushed skull !?!

With the almost infinite amount of rocks available on mars, You're bound to
find many thousands you can associate with objects we see on Earth all the
time.

No doubt in my mind. <G>

It's the same color as the rest of the basalt rock
in the area. On this planet fossils are almost
always a different color from the rock they are
found in or around.

It was the symetrical aspect of the holes that
caught my attention. NASA must have thought so
too because they took 4 pan-cam image sets that had
the rock in them.

It does look like it might be ejecta thrown from a
crater and splashed on impact. :)
